LowestMed Launches its Rx Advocacy Program, in Partnership with Rx Help Centers, to Offer a way for Individuals to afford High-cost Medications

SALT LAKE CITY (March 16, 2015) – LowestMed recently saw the need to offer assistance for patients that have been prescribed high cost medications, which is why today the company announced its new Rx Advocacy Program, which is made possible through a partnership with Indiana-based Rx Help Centers.

This unique partnership allows LowestMed to not only offer its primary price comparison tools as a way for patients to save money, but will now have the ability to act as advocates to help patients save on high-cost drugs. Through the partnership, LowestMed and Rx Help Centers aim to be the primary source of prescription savings in the nation.

“Prescription drugs are expensive, especially when the patient has been prescribed a high-cost specialty drug,” said Brad Bangerter, LowestMed Creator and CEO. “The Rx Advocacy Program allows LowestMed to offer a solution for patients with an inability to afford their medications due to high costs.”

The high price of medications is quickly becoming a concern for many American households. According to a recent Consumer Reports poll, 1 in 4 Americans skipped filling a medication due to cost, another 17 percent took an expired medication and 18 percent skipped a scheduled dose not at their pharmacist or physician’s direction, all to save money.

“We are extremely excited to team up with Rx Help Centers, since we now have the ability to help even more patients afford their medications” said Bangerter. “We have already been able to help a number of individuals save thousands of dollars on their high-cost medications through the Rx Advocacy Program. It has truly been life changing for them.”

Though LowestMed’s search tools and prescription drug coupons are free for anyone to use, the Rx Advocacy Program requires a nominal monthly fee.
